What God builds and sets in motion, He maintains. His goal is not to just establish new works, but to grow us up in Him to be strong and mature. What started as a return home and a rebuilding of the Temple for worship in Jerusalem, now moves into another phase of growth spiritually for God's people. It's now 80 years later and the Persian king Artexerxes send the priest, Ezra, with a group of people back to Jerusalem to teach the people God's Word and help them walk in His ways.
How often does God send godly examples and leaders into our lives to help us grow up in Jesus? Even more as we study Ezra 7 we see a picture of the Holy Spirit given as a Helper in our lives to lead us in the things of God.
